MediaTek's upcoming 6nm flagship chipset beats Qualcomm in benchmarks

A few weeks back, MediaTek announced MediaTek Dimensity 700 5G chipset for mid-range smartphones. Along with that, the company also announced two SoCs for Chromebook - MT8195 and MT8192. The company has confirmed it is also working on a new premium 6nm base chipset for smartphones. A new MediaTek was recently spotted on AnTuTu benchmark. Previously, the chipset was also spotted on the Geekbench database a few days ago. Samsung Galaxy M02 launch in India imminent

The  Samsung Galaxy M01 budget-friendly phone was launched in India back in June along with Galaxy M11. And reports that Samsung is working on bringing the successor to the Galaxy M01 to the market called the Galaxy M02 have been doing the rounds for a while.  The Samsung Galaxy M02 was recently spotted on the Geekbench database and now it has been confirmed .  According to the same report, the Samsung Galaxy M02 will have “SM-M025F” model number. The listing also revealed several other key specs of the device.  And now according to a report by Mysmartprice , the Galaxy M02 support page is up on the Samsung website. It confirms that the model number of the device would be SM-M025F/DS. The new Redmi Note 9 4G might launch in India, albeit with a different name

The recently-announced Redmi Note 9 family in China was met with a lot of interest, owing to their high-end specs at mid-range prices. While there are bits pointing at their eventual launches in other markets, the cheapest of the bunch — the Redmi Note 9 4G — just took a big step towards its Indian launch. Unveiled towards the end of November, the Redmi Note 9 series is a different range from the one that debuted in India in March with the same name. Consisting of the Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G, the Redmi Note 9 5G and the Redmi Note 9 4G, the new phones bring significant upgrades in areas such as the chipset, camera and display without getting a lot more expensive. Global smartphone sales slip by 5.7% in Q3 2020

The bad news: Smartphone sales in the third quarter of 2020 were worse than Q3 2019.  The good news: But smartphone sales were better than Q2 of this year.  According to a report by research and advisory company Gartner, the global smartphone sales declined by 5.7% in the third quarter of 2020 compared to the same period in 2019. The global smartphone sale stood at 366 million units in the past quarter. Overall global mobile phone sales to end users totaled 401 million units, a decline of 8.7% year-over-year. However, after two consecutive quarters of a decline of 20%, quarterly smartphone sales have started to show signs of recovery sequentially.  “Consumers are limiting their discretionary spend even as some lockdown conditions have started to improve,” said Anshul Gupta, senior research director at Gartner. “Global smartphone sales experienced moderate growth from the second quarter of 2020 to the third quarter.
